Kids Morning Chore Chart
My kids, specifically my 5 year old, have a hard time remembering what they need to do to get ready in the morning. Instead of having to tell them and repeat myself all the time, I made this quick little chart in Microsoft Publisher and so far, it is working great! I used washi tape (love that stuff!) to decorate clothespins for each girl so after they do something, they move their colored clothespin from the bottom to the side of the chart. I designed it so that both clothespins could fit on the right side but my girls put their pins on different sides - the pink goes on the left and the purple goes on the right. I like that system better (especially for small fingers) and wish I had centered my chart more but I already had it laminated at an office supply store so it's too late now.
The girls love this chart so much so I'm going to make something similar for their weekly chores.

Project Life beach album using the HSN Dear Lizzy mini kit
Hi there! I have wanted to share projects with you but my laptop died a few weeks ago and I have been waiting for my hubby to fix it. He wasn't able to so I should be getting a shiny new laptop this week. Yay because I've been in withdrawal! I'm using his computer so please excuse the lack of photo editing on today's post but I was too excited about finishing my mini vacation album not to share it with you.
I used the Dear Lizzy mini album kit that came from HSN. I'm not crazy about the pink album for a beach vacation so I will probably switch that out for a different color but for now, it works. I did add in a few other products from my stash - new and old things - but the mini kit worked great and I even have some 3x4 cards leftover since I used the front & back of cards quite a bit.
Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions! Click the photos to see them larger. (I left a few pages out for privacy reasons.)
I got the idea for the date written in the sand from a woman in a Project Lifers group that I belong to on Facebook. I love that group - they are full of advice, inspiration and tons of nice women.
These journal cards are a little plain for my taste (specifically that green one on the right side) but by this point, I was running out of steam on this project and just wanted to get it done.
On the bottom left photo, I used one of the new Project Life Overlays from HSN. I love those!! I highly recommend getting them if they get restocked.
Thanks for looking and let me know in the comments if you have any questions.
I'm linking up with Paper Issues.
I'm also linking up with the Week-2-Week challenge to use a quote card.

Project Life | Week 24 & 25
I recently got to spend a day with my scrappin' BFF, Amy. I was hoping to get 4 weeks completed but when we get together, we chat too much so I only got 2 weeks done but that's ok. It's progress. I obviously still have some catching up to do but now that my daughter is in school and I only have one home with me, I am hoping to pick up the pace.
Here is Week 24.
Left side. I have a bling fireworks sticker to put on that "This" 4x6 card about my July 4th display but I can't find it at the moment so that will have to wait.
Right side. I'm not crazy about the "SO" card. I like the card but I don't like how the letter stickers get lost on the arrow washi. I could probably use a lighter part of that washi (not the black arrow) but I doubt I will ever go back and change it. I'm ok with that.
And Week 25

And finally, last week I also worked on a 34-page Shutterfly album from my family's beach vacation last month. I made the new 10x10 size for my mom's birthday present and I got an AMAZING deal on it! These are just a few of the pages. I went simple because I was under a time crunch (my amazing deal was going to expire at the end of the month) but I knew my mom will still love it. She should be receiving it any day now.
The good news is that Shutterfly has another great deal on their photo books starting on Thursday. They will have a $29.99 photo book credit promotion with code SUMMERBOOK. The $29.99 credit is good for a free 20-page 8x8 photo book or you can apply the credit and upgrade to a larger size. The code is valid Thurs 9/5 through Wed 9/11.
Disclaimer: Offer expires 9/11/2013 (11:59 P.M. PT). Offer is good for $29.99 off a 12x12, 8x8, 10x10, 11x14, or 8x11 photo book at shutterfly.com. Offer valid for one-time redemption per billing address. Customer must choose only one of the three offers. Taxes, shipping and handling will apply.

Project Life | Week 23
What a busy couple of weeks we have had. It included a week beach vacation with my whole family which was a really special time but I have to admit, I missed my PL supplies. We made lots of wonderful memories though and I have already ordered my photos from it so I can get started on my mini PL album.
I spent a day getting the house back in order when we got back and then I jumped right back into scrapping. I used the Maggie Holmes Collection 6x6 paper pad from Crate Paper plus a few other things thrown in. When I first got this pad in my Citrus Twist Project Life kit, I didn't think I would use it but while I really don't like some of the papers, I really do like some of the others so I'll use what I can and give the rest to my daughter. This layout went together pretty quickly right up until I had to do that 4x6 Father's Day title card. For some reason, I was stumped and had no ideas. It took me a week of thinking about it and cruising Pinterest and Instagram before I finally came up with what I did. I don't love it but it ended up a little better than I thought it would.

Project Life | Week 22 plus my Project Life on the Go
We had a busy week so it was hard to fit in time for scrapbooking but I was able to get it done. Part of what helped me was that I took my supplies with me when my family went out of town for a night to celebrate a new nephew's baptism. I took my things with me and worked on it in the hotel room while my kids slept in the other bed and my hubby watched Harry Potter on TV.
This was my view at the hotel room desk. Yes, that is wine in a paper cup. Whatever works, right?! My hubby even used my scrapbooking supplies to get the wine open so in the end, he was glad I brought my stuff along.
And this is what I took with me. This case holds almost all of my PL supplies - except that I acquired 2 more kits (Midnight and Honey) that don't fit in there at the moment but I think I will be doing some rearranging soon. Normally I will stick my scissors, pen and adhesive in the tote wherever it might fit but for this trip, I just grabbed my whole tool tote because of lack of time (this was a last minute decision to bring this along). The left photo shows my core kits and the right photo is the backside of the Cropper Hopper Photo Case holding embellishments "of the moment" that I like.
I print my photos at home and usually slide them into my protectors right away, even getting several weeks in there at a time. Then it all goes in a large 12x12 envelope and is ready to go with me whether it is on an overnight trip in a hotel room or so I can work on it on my lunch break at work.
Now on to my completed pages. Since I'm still playing catch up, I kept the embellishing pretty simple. I used the Becky Higgins Jade core kit for this week.
This was also the week that I started this blog so I made sure to document that.

I decided to change it up and make a 3x4 title card again. I'm not sure
that I like having the title card so small but it allowed me to put the
photos in at the size and slots that I wanted. I'll do that again if I
have to but I think I prefer the 4x6 size.
This was also the week that I started this blog so I made sure to document that.
Do you travel with your PL (or other scrapbooking) supplies? How do you do it?
